Here, we present simulation results for convection and diffusion processes on an interface, i.e. on a two-dimensional surface within three-dimensional flow.
On the right, the simulation results for the diffusion process of a surfactant concentration is shown. Here, the surfactants adhere to a surface that is given by an iso-contour of the called Enzensberger star.

Considering Stokes flow around a spherical bubble, we study the evolution of the distribution of surfactants due convection on the surface. Clearly, the surfactants accumulate on the downstream-side of the sphere, thus altering the physical properties of the interface in this region.
