iTi X | July 24th-26th, 2023 | Bertinoro, Italy

Latest News

We, the organizers of the iTi, all very much agreed, that we should not have yet another online meeting or postpone iTi again. We feel a strong interest and need to engage in an intensive scientific exchange with you, the turbulence community and many also friends, even in these complicated times.

It is quite clear that the Covid pandemic is not over yet, still, most of the countries are seeking to return to normality to some extent. Especially in the summer months this seems possible because the incidence rates are comparatively low. Also, against the background of many requests from the turbulence community, we have decided to hold the 10th iTi during the summer, i.e. July 24th-26th, 2023 again fully in person.

General Information and iTi history

The iTi (interdisciplinary Turbulence initiative) is a series of conferences on turbulence research and organized in order to focus on different aspects of both fundamental and applied nature. It started in Bad Zwischenahn / Germany in 2003 and after two meetings there, it continued to be held in Bertinoro / Italy since then. In 2023 iTi has its 10th anniversary.

Engineers, physicists and mathematicians working in the field of turbulence are invited to join the conference. Topics comprise themes such as: Fundamentals, Modelling, Simulations (DNS and LES), Mathematical Methods, Coherent/vortical structures, Scaling Laws and Intermittency, Large Re flows experiments, Convection, Polymers and Scalars, Scalar Mixing and Particles, Turbulent Boundary Layers, Atmospheric flows and MHD to name only a few.
